Snake Rush v2.1 — combo overhaul & new daily challenge
We rebuilt the combo multiplier from scratch, added a daily Golden Apple, and quietly fixed the edge-teleport bug that’s been haunting power players.
Today we’re rolling out Snake Rush v2.1, our biggest gameplay change in six months. The headline feature is a completely rebuilt combo system.
The old combo meter was bugged: chaining apples within 1.5 seconds was supposed to stack a 2x multiplier, but on low-framerate devices the window silently shrank to about 1.1 seconds. Players on flagship phones effectively had a different game to players on budget Androids. We’ve rewritten the timing logic against the render loop’s delta-time instead of frame count — it now behaves identically on a 60 Hz Chromebook and a 120 Hz iPhone.
We also added a daily Golden Apple challenge. Every 24 hours at 00:00 UTC a single board seed is generated. Clear it and you earn 30 coins. Clear it on the first try and you earn 90.
The edge-teleport bug (snake occasionally wrapped across the wall even in classic mode) is fixed. Finally.
